| Deep into the very center of the Cosmos lays a land that for centuries had laid untouched by mortal bounds, Akkadia.
In this world of rich soil and rebirth, a kind but mighty tree sprouts, reaching towards the heavens with it's leaves and giving life to all around it. It is unknown to many how old this life giving tree is, for legends tell that it has always been there to protect the souls of it's domain. Above this beautiful tree, within it's farthest branches, lives a golden and motherly owl, Lucerna.
For many of her lives, Lucerna has watched over the great tree and the lands, bringing peace and prosperity to those below. She, along with a council of mysterious beings from the stars, kept this world safe from the hands of destruction. Until one day, deep within the belly of the planet, a low reverberation began to bellow.
This disruption caused violent change to the land, volcanoes erupting and tidal waves lapping at the unprotected shores. Worse yet, a sickness began to grip those closer to the epicenter. Panic spread between the council, as they ushered Lucerna to soothe the startled flora and fauna below. Lucerna, worried for her home, begun her journey to fly across Akkadia and find the source of this rumbling. She would travel for many days and nights, pleading for the disasters to slow.
Far across the oceans and mountains, from within some of Akkadia's deepest caves, crawled weary travelers. Mortals with no direction or knowledge of this strange land. They had woken up in the darkness, having no recollection of the powerful and strange phenomenon that had landed them here. Ahead of them walked a tall and proud wolf, his rust and charcoal colored fur rustling with the breeze as he gazed at the strange and wonderful forest they had emerged into. It's dense canopy still allowed light to filter through, dancing in patterns along the ground and lighting their path.
Ragna herded those who followed him into the creation of a camp, allocating water and the unknown foods as needed. Seeking refuge within the old and sturdy trees, they began to call their strange new home, Willows. | |
